What Soul and Wisdom is

Soul and Wisdom is a source-led digital reflection service for adults aged 18 and over. It offers cited passages from public-domain and enduring sources, neutral reflection questions, and personal notes. Soul and Wisdom is a reflective reading tool. It is not therapy, counselling, medical or mental-health treatment, diagnosis, risk prediction, health monitoring, urgent care, or crisis support, and it does not replace professional advice.

Eligibility and age

You may use Soul and Wisdom only if you are 18 years of age or older. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or older. The service is not intended for, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. You can manage sign-in details, reset your password, and review membership from your account page. Self-service account deletion is not available on the website yet; see Privacy for current options.

Membership, trials and payment

Soul and Wisdom offers two recurring memberships, each with a seven-day free trial for eligible first-time members:

• Monthly: £9.99 per month after the trial.
• Annual: £69.99 per year after the trial (about £5.83 per month).

The trial begins only once a payment method has been added through the relevant store. Both plans renew automatically until cancelled. Your membership is recorded on your account, not on a single device. Membership adds unlimited passage matching, journalling, and access to the full source archive; the daily passage remains available without a paid membership.

Eligible website subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Purchases made in the iOS or Android apps use Apple App Store or Google Play billing, and those stores’ own terms apply. Soul and Wisdom does not receive or store full card numbers.

Cancellation and renewal

You can cancel any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal, while access normally continues through the end of the verified trial or paid period. You can cancel and manage billing from your membership page or directly with the store you paid through (Stripe, Apple App Store, or Google Play). Deleting your Soul and Wisdom account does not by itself cancel a store subscription, so cancel separately to prevent renewal.

Where a renewal payment fails, access may continue while retries are attempted; see the notices in the app. Mandatory consumer and platform rights are unaffected by these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including sharing your account beyond your own use, attempting to circumvent access limits or payment, or uploading unlawful or abusive content to your journal. Journal entries are private to your account.

Content and sources

Passages are cross-checked and cited to a translation that is in the public domain where possible. Where an attribution or interpretation is contested, Soul and Wisdom aims to say so plainly rather than present certainty it cannot support. The Soul and Wisdom app, interface, original commentary, and selection remain the property of Soul and Wisdom and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use.

Passage recommendations and reflection questions are generated for contemplation only. They are not assessments, diagnoses, predictions, or professional advice, and must not be relied upon as such.

Disclaimers and limits

Soul and Wisdom is provided on an “as is” basis as a reflective reading tool. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soul and Wisdom is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of a non-clinical reflection service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded, or affects your mandatory statutory consumer rights.

If anything feels urgent, overwhelming, or unsafe, this service cannot help in a crisis — contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis-support service.

Copyright and ownership

The Soul and Wisdom name, brand, emblem (The Lantern of the Ages), logos, app design, interface, original commentary, curation of passages, software code, and database structure are owned by Soul and Wisdom and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. The “Soul and Wisdom” name and associated branding are proprietary marks of Soul and Wisdom.

Cited passages are drawn from works in the public domain wherever possible; the underlying passages themselves remain subject to the status of their original sources. Everything else on this service — including original commentary, selection, presentation, and software — is the property of Soul and Wisdom and is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer the service, or use the Soul and Wisdom name or branding, without prior written permission.

Unauthorized use of the Soul and Wisdom name, branding, or content may constitute infringement and is subject to legal action.

Changes, termination and contact

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. To ask about these terms, contact privacy@soulandwisdom.app.
